This note from our winner...
First off, thank you to all who voted for "Uh Oh Squirrel." He is a cutie. I was asked to give a little background on the photo, so here goes. I don't think it will win the Pulitzer, but it did win the Duncraft!
Mine is a tale of squirrel love. Every where I've lived and worked, one (if not several) have always found me. My number must be on the bathroom wall in Squirrelville, but I digress. Every morning, my little friends make their way to the patio door and knock, fervently, until they see me reaching for my bag of almonds (raw and organic, of course!) Then, as I open the door, they all take their places: one to my left, one to my right, one on the pergola, and so on. Then, the nut I am, I hand feed them, fifty times over. I am sure the neighbors think I need a hobby. The picture I submitted is one of my "rafter" squirrels after just being given a peanut. He looked at me, as if to say, "Where the heck are the almonds?" I was fresh out. Next, they'll want me to actually peel them.
So, thank you to everyone and Duncraft for finally vindicating my pastime. And as for what the caption should be, I like this one, "Hey, these aren't DUNCRAFT peanuts!" Happy Trails, Kelly B.

I will never look at a squirrel in the same way again. I really enjoyed their antics in our back yard but I grew to love their endless expressions captured by patient photographers.
Thanks to all those wonder photographers that brightened the end of a long winter.
And thank you Duncraft for coming up with such a creative contest.

I have greatly enjoyed the photos and the competition.
One of my pictures [#4] was selected to be in the finals and although mine was not a top winner, I appreciate the honor of being included.
Thank you for the fun and I hope to enter your next contest.

Thanks so much for offering these great pictures for us to enjoy. The world needs to pay a lot more attention to all of GOD's creatures - to stop and smell the roses, as they say.
These are fascinating critters. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Holy Moly Those Squirrel Pictures were Hilarious!! I know I have a bunch of them in my backyard and of course I feed them and they are sometimes really funny with all their antics of getting at my birdfeeders. I even put food dishes out just for them but they still hit my bird feeders. Have a Wonderful Spring Everyone and Keep Feeding the Birds and Critters!!!
