And here is your photo contest winner--congratulations Jan Lods! What a stunning photo!

This message is from our winner--Jan Lods:
My cardinal photo was taken through a glass window on a very cold icy snowy morning. It was so gray and dismal that day that the cardinal with his bright red feathers caught my eye immediately. I have enjoyed sharing with all of you. I think the photo contest is a wonderful idea and I know personally looking at all the different bird photos gave me an opportunity to view the birds others see everyday in their own areas and yards!
Bird feeding is fantastic...during the year my husband and I put out a variety of different feeders depending on the season to entice diversity. We have never been disappointed...and seems like the snowier the weather, the more show up to get the goodies. Sometimes the ground feeders get busy with other critters, raccoons, possums, squirrels as well as my families of doves. Food is varied to serve all, from whole peanuts (loved by the Blue Jays) to sunflowers seeds enjoyed by most. My nuthatches and woodpeckers frequent the suet feeders for more photo ops.
Jan Lods
P.S. Don't put those cameras away just yet folks! We will be running another photo contest in the near future...stay tuned for details!

I can truly appreciate the Cardinal photo I just can't relate to it as, sadly, they do not favor the West. Bravo ! keep clicking.
